The Teleferico is an original and eco-friendly mode of air transportation that connects the city centre with Madrid's green lung, the Casa de Campo.
The route starts at the Paseo del Pintor Rosales and ends at the Casa de Campo. From
the Teleferico, one can contemplate a unique and distinct Madrid.
The aerial cable car is a bi-cable system. It has 80 cabins, each one of which has a
capacity for five people, and travels a distance of 2,457 meters, reaching a maximum
height of 40 meters.
The motor station is located at 627 meters above sea level and the tensioner is at 651. It has a capacity for 1,200 passengers per hour and a speed of 3'5 meters per second, taking 11 minutes to reach its destination.
Ever since its inauguration, it has been enjoyed by more than eight million passengers in over five million trips. It is used every year by about 200,000 people and remains open to the public most of the year. One year of construction was employed for this mode of air transportation that is still considered the most modern today due to its high technology and reliability.
